Got a 55mm instead of a 50mm tube for my K40

Post by pannaus »

ANd it looks like the laser fires, but it won't cut or engrave more than 1mm on acrylic.

I've put my 50mm back and it works, so it look like it's a problem of the lamp.

The vendor didn't even reply to me, as I bought them in July.
Any help?

Does anyone here need two of those 70mm, 55mm diameter 40W tubes? They're new.

Thanks!

When you install the '55mm' tube, you must re-adjust the focus point. The mount on K40 is fixed so the light beam will be higher than the 50mm. You may check the light beam on each mirror by placing a pice of paper (I use Post-it, sticky) and test fire. Make sure each burn hit to the center of mirror and the enter to the center hole of the laser head, the closer to the center, the better.

Marco thanks, also, I've got my second package today from you.
I'll just send you the money and keep it. Was it 26 or 28 usd?

Also, I've done my focal point re-adjusting right away as I thought the same things you wrote.
It's weird. The laser hits the middle of the lens. Thought, even at 40% power, it won't cut deeper than 1 mm.

I have 2 tubes and both do the same thing. The 50mm instead, works great.
But if you tell me that the 55mm works fine, then I'll just try to adjust again and try to find a solution.

Thanks for your time!

It is $28

Where did you buy the tube ? You may run some test before the focus lens. Grap a piece of wood and test it with full power. Fire on it fir 10seconds or so and did the same to yoir old tube. Compare the deep both tubes burned and you may get an idea how much difference in power.
