Laser Power Supply Testing

Post by shizyo »

I tried to test my laser power supply by connecting the wires like following:
1) Connect the "WP" to the ground to by pass "water protection"
2) Connect the "TL" to enable the power supply
3) Connect the HV (hot wire) to the anode of the laser tube (the coil side)
4) Connect the ground wire to the cathode of the laser tube (the output side)
5) Now be careful: Once you connect the "IN" to the "+5V" on the power supply, it should fire in full power!
And for the input I do like following:
+Red wire from the fuse to AC on laser power supply
+Black wire from the 220V plug to AC on laser power supply
+Yellow wire from the Ground Wire Joint to the FG on the laser power supply
However, when I connect the "IN" to the "+5V" on the power supply, there's nothing fired. Anyone knows why? Am I correct as connecting the wires from the plug(220V) to the laser power supply?

What was your "TL" connecting to?

Hi Marco,
I connect TL to the the ground (G) like "WP".
The LED lights up and the fan is running but nothing fired as I connect "IN" to the "5V".
I also connect "5V" to the ground as well but it also doesn't work.
Do you know is there other way to test the laser power supply?
Do you think is there any possibility that there is something wrong with the laser tube ?
