Hi John,

I am willing to try anything at this moment in time. I just can't understand why it's doing this.

I have built a number of CNC machines before and this problem is almost always caused by drawing too many amps from the Stepper drivers causing it to miss steps.

I have tried upping the Amp rating on the drivers. I might try going to 1.05 amps on the X axis and if that doesn't work i might try replacing the driver.

Any other ideas?

Thanks,

Dan

Is it possible that the pulley could be slipping?

If i could remove any chance of the problem being a mechanical one i can move on to look at other things.
Hi Dan

I would think it doubtful if its a belt slipping especially at the low speeds you tried also a slipping belt would give random results (or at least a worst effect than you are getting ie slipping at each end of the axis) and a belt with teeth missing would surely cause every cut to step out of align where X meets Y ?

SUCCESS!!!!

I changed the pulse edge from falling edge to rising edge and it seems to be working.

I tested exactly the same file and it looks perfectly aligned!!

Thanks to everyone for your advice.

Here are a few pictures of the design being cut after changing the setting:

You can see the engraving and cutting is now aligned.
