Hello folks:

Finally I just finished a "Step by step" DSP upgrade guide for the K40 the desktop laser machine. Since I have been very busy recently and it took me a great effort to get images and touch-up. I've spent over 5~6hrs taking pictures of each step during the conversion and after the conversion. Then, it took me 3 days, possible 9 hrs writing to make the first draf due to my poor writing skills. It may not cover everything you may want to know but it certainly can give you a big help.

This draft was written to the best I know after taking a real conversioon of a K40. Please forgive my 2nd class English skill but I already tried my best. It's easy for me to do tech work than writing things in English

This is a remarkable effort on Marco's part. It clarifies so many things about the conversion. I have to say that as far as I have seen, this Is the best, most thorough conversion documentation in the industry. . Thank you Marco.

In following your instructions I did discover that by removing the wall between the electronics and the xy table first I was able to easily remove the XY mechanism without removing the mirror. It also made it easier to dismount the old 24 volt power supply and mount the new single axis stepper drivers. This step by step has so far answered all my questions....well see how I do tomorrow.

Thank you for your compliement. If I had enough time, I could have added more info. Followings are a few of topics that I didn't cover yet but will do it for 2nd draft:

1) Current meter connection for both digital and analog
2) Y space expansion from 320mm to 345mm
3) X,Y alignment
4) Exhaust fan
5) Focus point
6) 'Z' table. The last shipment was sold out. A new shipment should be here in about a month.

Year end is getting closed and I have to prepare so many things for the 2013. Currently I'm totally out of spare time and I have squeeze my 'family' time to get the 1st draft possible. If you asked me whether I'm happy with the 1st draft, my anwwer is "no". So, I'll make sure a better version will be coming out as possible as I can. Stay tuned.

Following two weeks, I'm going to do inventory clean, inventory count, tax preparation, finding warehouse (for expansion ), rebuilding two (old but new) machine 8060 and 4030, it's been sitting here for 3 years what a waste. All those things are on my priority list and business is business... got to do what I got to do.
