3d Models or Drawings for Light Object parts

Post by spk64 »

I am in the process of designing a new laser cutter and will be incorporating many parts from Lightobject.
Do any drawings or 3d models exist?

My first item that I am need of is the process head LSR-HD2520LR.

And the mirror Mount LSR-PR25M2D

Thanks,

Sorry I don't have drawing for those parts. The manufacturers are not willing to share

I drew models of both of those pieces during the construction of my laser.

I use Geomagic Design - I can share the models with you, or make STEP files.

They aren't perfect, but are close enough.

That would be fantastic if you can share the drawing!

Thx!

Yes, the models would be great. I created some rough models based on various dims and pictures but cannot cut steel based on that.

OK, I've attached the models below.

I also have some quick models of the AWC608 and its display somewhere. I do not have the 708C.

Here are the important files in this archive:

*.AD_ASM, *.AD_PRT These are Geomagic Design files of the optics parts.
You will need a recent Geomagic Design license to open them.

There are two sets of STEP files. The ones that have the word "Assembly" in their names were
extracted from the Geomagic assembly (these are compound parts, made from smaller parts).

The ones that do NOT have the word "Assembly" are static parts (called "booleans" in Geomagic).
In Geomagic, an assembly boolean is a single part (sub-parts are all combined to make an assembly
into a single big part).

Which one you use for your design is up to you. I used the booleans to keep my model tree under control.

Full assemblies:

BeamCombiner_Assembly.stp LSR-BCMV650M
HeadAssembly.stp LSR-HD2520LR
MirrorAssembly.stp LSR-PR25M2D

Parts (same model, just as a single part)

LaserBeamCombiner.stp LSR-BCMV650M
LaserHead.stp LSR-HD2520LR
LaserMirror.stp LSR-PR25M2D

There are also files for the Reci W2 tube and the tube mounts, but I've customized those slightly. You'll
want to use Geomagic to make them correct for your model.

If you _do_ have Geomagic design, there are reference planes in the parts that you can line up to model the path
the laser beam follows. This is handy for designing your beam path.

All parts are designed in metric units (millimeters).

All parts were drawn by measuring the examples purchased from LightObject. They are NOT manufacturer models.

Threads are not modeled. Some fasteners not modeled, but mounting holes should be OK.

ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY OR GUARANTEE OF ACCURACY.

The only thing I can say is that it was good enough for my machine :-).

These will a lot. If you have a controller model that would be great.

Thank you,
