12 ch antenna
Quick question. Should the antenna stay curled up and short or would it have better range if it was pulled out straight?

Either way is fine. But make sure that it's not enclosed in a metal case. Antenna count on the total length of wire (based from what I leaned in school, correct me if I'm wrong)
