DC power in SSR but no heating?

Post by sous-vide »

Thanks richiem for your expert advice on the DC-AC configuration of the SSR. I did exchange the AC-AC SSR for the DC-AC SSR I had before and had it installed.
Also I bought a small multimeter which allowed me to measure 7,5 VDC and 46 mA on the input of the SSR. And the red light is on.
So it seems OK but the heater is still not heating !!!??
Maybe I made an error in the programming of the PID ??
Could anyone help me to solve that problem?
Thank in advance!

The red light is on in the SSR, or the red light is on in the controller?

If the first, or both, then either you've mis-wired the AC connections to the heater and the SSR, or the heater or some piece of wire or connection is open.

If the second, but not the first, then either the polarity of your connections between the controller and the SSR is wrong, or the SSR is dead.

Based on your multimeter readings, it may be a connection polarity issue....
