Max panel thickness for jld612?

Post by HereinCS »

What's the thickest panel that the JLD612 can mount to? Thanks.

I'm guessing about 3/16" or alittle more with the four spring fingers on the last ridge, but you can kludge up a mount for thicker panels with L-brackets and super glue and longish screws.

BTW, mine is in a 1/8" thick panel, and I found that I had to stick wedges under the four spring fingers to hold them up tight to the edges of the opening on the back of the panel, otherwise the fingers easily retracted back into the housing under some light pressure.

I like the idea of using some kind of removable clamp around the housing to hold L-brackets and screws that thread through the L-bracket and push against the back of the panel to pull the controller tight against the front of the panel. The L-brackets have to be removable or you can't get the controller out of the panel if you need to -- forget super glue....
