I am trying to use the auto tuning on this unit by pressing :01 but no tuning taking place.. am I missing something?

Is LED blinking?
In case you didn't know, Auto-tuning may take hrs up to 24hrs.

By the way, how difficult to do auto setting on the 6131P other than just set auto to .01 I know eventually it should be done.

Robinhood-

Have you been successful in getting your 6131 to work correctly? I had to return mine as the Present Value temperature reading was not stable and would increase to about 12 degrees too high just sitting idle without any actual temperature change.

I would have liked to have the unit work for my application, but never got to actually try it because of this problem. I tried another thermocouple, but same result.

Yes I did get mine working fine! I am heating a silicone rubber adhesive backed blanket heater 1"x50" long and I am using a Shim Stock Thermocouple type K with silicone rubber adhesive end. If you heating an oven naturally you do not want to use this one for that.
