7100 Probe Configuration Problem
I purchased the 7100 and a PT100 temperature probe http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 5161433001. I followed the manual, but the unit is displaying EEEE despite having set the probe to PT100. There are three leads on the probe, 1 red, 2 black. I tried wiring each combination to the unit: b1 + b2, r; b1, r, b2, r, b1 + r, b2, b2 + r, b1 but the unit still displays. Any ideas? Thanks!

Make sure Red(+) is on terminal#7. Then you can swap between #6 and #8 back and fro. Once connection verifed, the "EEE.E" will disappear.

Re: 7100 Probe Configuration Problem
Just one other thought. I got a different unit with a K thermocouple and it was intermittently going into EEEEEE and I found that the terminals on the end of the thermocouple were not crimped fully and were causing intermittent errors. I re-crimped them and that fixed it.
Just a thought. BTW I figured this out by checking continuity on the leads.
