So as i'm in the process of building my new laser I have a question on hooking up a "3-1/2 DIGITAL BLUE LED DC 200A CURRENT METER (8135)" http://www.lightobject.com/3-12-Digital ... -P224.aspx
to the tube. My understanding is i hook it in between the neg cathode on the tube. the wire gauge on this meter seems really small..is this ok? what gauge wire is needed for the negative side of the tube. I'm also under the impression you can still get a MAJOR shock from the neg side. Is this correct? I'm trying to keep safety VERY much in mind with my build. expectially with the HV side of things.
Thanks
Brandon

Re: LED Amp Meter connection question
You won't use a 200A for a CO2 laser tube because it take less than than 36mA in most laser tube under 200W
A 35mA is equivalent to 0.035A. The 200A meter will show nothing at all but"000"

Re: LED Amp Meter connection question
Easy way is to get an analog 30mA current meter
For fancy looking, get one of our blue 100mA meter and a 24v to 5V voltage isolation power module
