Motor Binding

Post by OrangeClockwerk »

Hey everyone! So I have been running my machine now for a couple months, I havent had many problems its been a really awesome experience building. But recently, like in the last 2 weeks, my X axis motor has been binding when doing long sweeps engraving, the Y-axis is just fine. It will run a few passes okay then all of a sudden it binds, the motor makes a binding noise, then it also ends up way off track because it thinks that line of code is finished and moves to the next. It will bind going in both directions left and right.

It also binds when I use the keys to go back and forth.

I also hear a knocking sound when i power off. and move the laser head by hand.

could the belts be too tight? I think its a physical issue here.

any input would be great.

What is the typical X swing engraving speed? I was going at 400 I think maybe i was just pushing it too hard?

It seems like the bind happens from quick acceleration in the opposite direction or from going too fast?

What kind of system we're talking here?
It seems that the X axis is escaping.

Please post the manufacturing information and the User information from a screenshot of the software.
What motor micro stepping are you currently using?

Thx

Marco
