Products needed to transform my CNC to CO2 laser cutter

Post by jdelavilla »

Hi,

I will transform my cnc machine to a CO2 laser cutter, but not sure if I am missing something. Hope you can help me to verify my product list.
Machine length:
X-1300mm
Y-900mm
Z-300mm

1 High Quality Reci S2 80W CO2 Sealed Laser LSR-JLDHQ80WCO2
1 80W~100W PWM CO2 Laser Power Supply (AC110V) LSR-JN80WCO2-1V
1 Water flow/ pressure sensor. Ideal for CO2 laser water protection
1 190~470nm 610~760nm UV Blue Red Laser Eyes

Is this config correct?...
1 Pro laser head mount for 20mm mirror & 18mm focus lens. LSR-HD2018LR
2 Improved 18mm ZnSe Focus lens (F50.8mm) LSR-LEN18ZN5I
4 20mm Gold Plated Reflection Mirror (I have Z- axis)

I already have the watter chiller, tube for watter and mountings for the reflection mirrors.
I will be cutting 10mm soft and hard wood. Is 80w enougth?

What is the shipping charge to 72560 ?
Hope you can help me to complete my buying list.

Thank u very much !!

I think you should get at least 100W if you're planning to cut 10mm or thicker hard wood. I found that hard wood is much harder to cut than the plywood. I tried 130W and I could able to cut through 6mm hard word at speed of 15mm/s (barely). Plus, I suggest you to use either 63.5mm or 68.5mm focus lens (high quality) for the 10mm board. By doing so, you're trading better cutting edge (less slop) but you lost cutting power a little bit. So, I guess you may be able to run at 8~10mm/s cutting speed at most with a 100W laser tube. Air assisted is required and if you don't want to get charring effect, you may want to inject "Nitrogen"

Here is what you need:
1x Reci 100W
1x 100W~180W LPSU
1x High quality ZnSe focus lens. 20mm/F:63.5 or 20mm/F:68.5
3x 25mm Si reflection mirror (not just the glass base, gold plated. You need Si base)
1x Laser head 25mm/20mm
2x mirror mount
2x 80mm laser tube mount
1x 30mA analog current meter or a 100mA digital current meter
1x 10600um CO2 laser goggle

Optional: air pump, water tube, DSP controller, water chiller

Note, you need a real water 'chiller'. Do not use CW3000 which is NOT a chiller!
You can find shipping rate before checkout by adding items to the cart.

Hi,

100w is out of budget, so I will go for the 80w laser and the hard wood will have to wait.
I had modified the list with the advices you gave me... here it is...

1x High Quality Reci S2 80W CO2 Sealed Laser
1x 80W~100W PWM CO2 Laser Power Supply (AC110V)
1x Water flow/ pressure sensor. Ideal for CO2 laser water protection
1x 10L/min (158GPH) High Temperature (80 'C) DC12V
1x 3-1/2 Digital Blue LCD DC 2V 20V Meter (8035)
1x CO2 10600nm Laser Eyes Protection Glasses/Goggle. CE certified

1x Pro laser head mount for 25mm mirror & 20mm focus lens. LR Type
1x High quality 15.0mm ZnSe Focus lens (F63.5mm)
3x 25mm Gold Plated Reflection Mirror

Can u please verify if the optics components are compatible? is the config all rigth?

The mounting for the lasser tube will be made by my own.
I have the Mountings for the reflec mirrors and the water chiller.

Thx for helping me.

1) You need 3x "25mm Si reflection mirror". It is also gold plated as the glass one (for 40W or below) but it is "Si"
2) You need a water chiller but not a water radiator for a Reci 80W. If you just use a water radiator, the life of the tube will be shorter and I can't warranty it for 6months but may be 3months.
