Sealing high voltage connection at the laser tube

Post by geartech »

The 32w that came with my K40 had a piece of silicone tube slit and pushed over the HV connections and then filled with what looks
like clear silicone sealer.
My K40 came with a tube of 703 gui xiang jiao packing adhesive. This stuff is a white thin silicone sealer/adhesive
Wonder if that will work or just leave the connections open?
I haven't had any issue with arcing but I just don't like 20kv out in the open.

Anyone have any advise for me?

The silicone in the sleeves will not insulate and prevent corrosion but also fix the wrap or connector so it won't come loose due to vibrations.

Yeah, I covered mine in quick curing silicone. Any builders one will for showers etc will do. Make sure the contacts are dry and you are doing it in a nice dry area. Tried it with a hot glue gun at first. Forget that!
