recommended lense/mirrors for 90W ?

Post by TSHobbies »

Can someone suggest to me from the selection of mirrors and lenses which would be best for a 90W ? Im seeing different types ,my mirrors are 25mm. I do alot of 1/4 cast acrylic cutting as well as 3mm ply and also engrave on the acrylic.

My understanding is that for 90w you should consider MO mirrors.

For lens make sure it is higher quality USA sourced material.

Here is a good buy,

For 40W or smaller, you can use 'gold plated' on glass
For 60W to 80W, you may use "MO" or "Si"
For 80W and up, you better use "Si". The Si is gold plated as well but some manufacturer come up different materials other than gold plated. But I'll stick with gold plated on Si

MO - it is just a polished mirror without coating. And MO is having higher melting point and stronger than Si. But, the issue is that it has lower reflection index the plated Si. So, for 100W or over, there is too much heat accumulated on the mirror. But recently, there are many laser manufactures in China are using MO on 100W or 120W machine because of longer life span. Well, it is up to you but I'll use Si for better performance
