The design of a mini DSP controller card is completed. We're waiting for the casing for the controller and the product should be ready for test in about 10 days. The design company already ran through many test and the results were good. The software for the card is the same for AWC608 and LO-X7 which is the "LaserCad".

Functioning wise it is almost the same as LO-X7. But the mini DSP only come with a LCD screen (2504) and the working area is limited to 600mm x 400mm. It comes with 3 axis control , single output, no Ethernet for communication. Beside that, similar performance is expected as the X7 because both cards share same algorithm.

One of the major difference between the standard card and the mini DSP: the price! For X7, it is $425. AWC608: $385. But for the mini DSP if you don't care much of smaller screen, no Ethernet connection, and the machine size is limited t o600x400 size, then you won't be regretted to get this mini DSP because the price is for $285!

Finally, the finished product of the new DSP controller card 'E5' is received and tested. Except for a small issue, the result is very promising! It shows not much difference on quality and speed for the cutting and engraving when compare it to the X7 and AWC608. See pictures of the actual product

Engraving at 500mm/s (LaserCad shows 900mm/s but system was locked to 500mm/s).
Size: 100mm x 100mm
Scan gap: 0.05
Time to complete: 8min

If I changed the scan from 0.05 to 0.1, it speed up the process and it took roughly 4min to complete
