Ok, after 6 months of back and fro long discussion with my tech guy in China, we finally came up a prototyping of a power Z table using 'Scissor mechanism"
It runs smoothly and less possible of jamming. It is light weight compare to the ball bearing type. Plus, it is more flexible to apply to machine with different size bedding.
It is a bit of over-engineering for now so we're working on the second prototype unit with less height while the scissor when retracted. The extend height now is about 150 (6") but I want to make it 200mm (8") if possible. The lifting power for now is 30lb but after the re-worked done, it could be 20lb. The video is showing 600x400. You need two units for 900x600 or 1200x900 machine

Re: Latest Power Z table prototype for big machine
Update: Rev3 of scissor type Z power table prototyping completed and will be in final phase for production soon
Change 1: Added 3:1 reduction gear. Now the lifting power can be high as 35kg (70lb) per lift.
Change 2: Changed from single scissor to double scissor so it would be very stable
Change 3: Improved lifting distance from 100mm to 160mm
Change 4: Dye color
Motor: Nema 23 (57 series) 3 phase motor
Estimated available date: July 28th
