Re: K40 not cutting after x7 upgrade

Original K40 usually comes with a 50.8mm (2-inch) lens. A useful, general-purpose lens.
Some people like to replace this with a shorter fl for engraving or even a longer one for cutting.
If you don't know any better then stick with the 50.8

Mine's a mess – I wouldn't invite anyone to look at it! (but it sure works!)

Re: K40 won't trace a path after its holiday

OK – I'm getting somewhere. It seems to be a mismatch between the UG5 upgrades and the version of Lasercad that I'm using. I went back to an earlier Lasercad and it it (sort of) worked. Can anyone tell me what is the most recent, totally stable version of Lasercad and UG5 file to work with a 608 ple...

Re: K40 won't trace a path after its holiday

Thanks TG, I will try all that but the point is that it was working perfectly the last time I used it and so far as I know nothing has been changed since then (except for me installing a UG5)

K40 won't trace a path after its holiday

I've not used my K40 with dsp for about three months – it was working perfectly back then. I came to do a quick (ha ha!) job on it yesterday and when I hit start/pause it went from 'Idle' to 'Work' for a fraction of a second then back to 'Idle'. There was a short beep (I think before the 'Work') the...

Re: Newbie Question - Laser Runs Continuously...

It's almost impossible to stress how important it is to ground (earth in UK) anything and everything you can reach! Some even earth (ground if you're American!) the water in the cooler – though I don't. Get a good clear earthing point and run wires it it from everywhere you can make a connection. Do...

Re: K40 mini rotary. Higher quality made

My LO rotary worked fine straight out of the box; very hard to see how it could damage anything even if incorrectly set up. I have to say that having watched Marco doing business for a year or two now I have noticed that an awful lot of users try to blame him or his kit for their mistakes. Just sayi...

Personally I think you're pushing your luck there! Man up and buy another, it won't break the bank!

Re: laser will only scribe a line , not cut

There is MDF and MDF... Some of them contain so much junk in the bonding agent that you couldn't cut through them with a Buck Rogers Ray Gun!

Also you get to use decent software with massively more fine control over many more variables.

Re: Confirmation on which upgrade kit I'd need for K40 upgra

I recognise this one all too well! It's what I started with. Basically, all the electronics have to come out and the optical endstops (two of) need to be replaced with microswitches. The 'floor' is held up on four posts, that has to go. The control panel goes too. Then ask Marco (or study the LO sho...

Re: LaserCAD install can't find CorelDraw

Other way round if I remember correctly – you tell CorelDRAW to install the Lasercad 'plugin' either while first installing it or – I think – as a macro afterwards.

Re: sudden loss of power

Put the old lens back in and see if thatchers the problem. If it does then your new lens is no good.
