Re: Dashed Construction Lines in LaserCAD.

I don't use corel draw. I draw and export directly from Solidworks 2017.

Dashed Construction Lines in LaserCAD.

I have used construction lines in Solidworks to create perforated lines in acrylic that I can snap along. It worked great, but now any time I import a DXF with the dashed lines, it shows up as a solid line. I don't know what I changed, or if it was an update to LaserCAD. Also, any of my older pwj5 f...

Surface of SI mirror just crumbled off.....

I bought new optics about 4 months ago after my old ones were starting to get a little worn after several years. I have used them for 10-12 hours, and they have been sitting, covered to keep dust off them, for about 3 months. Tried to use the machine today, but wasn't getting clean cuts. I started t...

Re: Beam Combiner Lens Orientation (LED RED DOT))

My old lens had an arrow, and the new one just has a dot on one side.....Which side faces towards the laser pointer, and which side faces towards the laser tube. I know it may only be a few % difference, but why give it up for nothing...Thanks

Re: Wiring tube with "Ceramic High Voltage Wire Jacket"

It is a large rectangular block with a hole drilled 3/4 of the way through it. It also has a long cylinder that slides into it. The cylinder has two smaller holes drilled through it, so you stick both wires through them....loop them together, then solder them....you can then slide it back into the b...

Wiring tube with "Ceramic High Voltage Wire Jacket"

Just got one of these and it has a ceramic jacket to hook up the high voltage line to. My old Reci just had a screw you screwed a wire with a crimped and soldered eye on to. Should I solder my wire and lead together, then slide them into the ceramic insulator? I know on some of the other tubes, wher...

Re: Wiring Up Pneumatic Air Valve?

Nevermind, I figured it out. Now I just need to find out if you can delay when it shuts down. I would like for it to run a few extra seconds after the project ends...

Wiring Up Pneumatic Air Valve?

I have an X7 and am trying to figure out the best way to wire up the valve. I want it to open when the machine starts working and shut off when it is done. Can it be done without a relay. I know the controller outputs 24 volts, but it seems to do it the whole time the DSP is fired up.

Re: Upgrading from stepper to servo... how?

The Leadshine 2NM Nema23 Hybrid Servo Closed Loop Stepper Motor 573HBM20-1000+HBS507 perform very well too.. I build several machines with them and i'm very happy with the results. Despite the high expectations of those Clearpath servo's they could not convince me in practice.. quite overpriced too...

Need to purchase new 80w to 100w tube. Need Advice!

Well after 3 years of good use, my reci tube has given it up. I am in need of a new tube. My use is at max about 5 hours a week, so I doubt that I will put more than about 500-700 hours on it over the life of the tube. My setup is used almost exclusively for cutting 1/4" cast acrylic. I typical...

Re: Upgrading from stepper to servo... how?

Just ordered one of these for another project. They look amazing! They can even be setup to use hard limits. You don't even need switches, and they look amazing accurate.

Re: Strange issue cutting.

Well the tube has finally gone out and I have to get a new one now. I typically run it at about 23 ma and it has lasted me about 3 years. I might run it 5 hours a week, so it doesn't get allot of usage. The next tube will probably go bad from age before actual use, so I don't need a 10,000 hour tube...

Re: Strange issue cutting.

Here are two burns from the bare beam directly out of the laser tube. It is about 12" from the tube on about a 1 second burst. I am trying to decide if I should try to replace the mirrors first. They both have some trash on them that won't come off, but if you think it is the tube, I will proba...

Re: Strange issue cutting.

I am going to remove the mirrors and see what the bare beam looks like. That sucks they don't last very long. May be better to just get cheaper tubes if they go bad in 18 months to 2 years. Although I don't think it would have gone from cutting clean to an abrupt halt in 2 days. I think there is som...

Re: Strange issue cutting.

I removed the beam combiner lens and it is cutting through the acrylic now, but it still isn't giving a clean cut. I don't know why it isn't putting out a perfectly round cutting beam. It was fine 2 days ago.
