Re: Start/Stop point issues

A few things can cause this: Backlash: Belt tension of Y is insufficient or/and one or more timingwheels (beltgears) are not tightened enough so they can rotate around the axis Steploss: the acceleration or speed is set too high for your machine, a small dent the guideways or dirt on or in the beari...

Re: Image Dither

Let me explain what dithering is: A laser fires or not.. this means that you can only engrave in black or white( or material color) Maybe you have seen photo's in old newspapers. They where only printed in black. Grayscale was done with the ratio between black ink and paper. Less black means a light...

Re: X7 Engraving help

As you have centered the object, increased the acceleration and lowered the speed, i can only think of having the size-settings of your workarea different from the actual workspace, in relation to your homepoint. Do you use homing? (your head will move to the corner you selected as homepoint after p...

Hmmm... where did you found this laser? Looks like it was on a junkyard for years... just curious.

Re: Engraving skewed, cutting fine

Mechanical? A loose timingpulley for instance.. X and Y not square (perpendicular)
Loosing steps due to a weak motor, wrong currentsettings, wrong settings for acceleration, jerk etc..
This can have many causes..

Re: aligning the XY gantry with laser tube

It depends on how your gantry is driven. If it is driven on both sides with one motor you can square it with the driverod, generaly.. Aligning the mirrors (all 3 or 4) and the tube itself is a matter of patience. I make paper stickers and coat them on the back with aluminum foil to prevent the mirro...

Yes, your Concave is practically zero, but your Convex is still visible, so this side is up (towards the lasertube's output..)

Re: Controller replacement help needed

In your CW5200 manual you will find the connections of this plug. I don't understand you wired the WP of the LPS to the controller. You mention "both WP connections"... It can be it has two connections but one of them must be signal and the other gnd-level. It is not common that a LPS has ...

Re: Controller replacement help needed

The WP-connection on the controller, but also on the LPS is an input actually. There is no WP-output. At least one of the WP-inputs (prefereably the one of the LASER1 connector on the controller) should be connected to your water-flow-sensor. All other WP-inputs (both LASER2/3/4/... of the controlle...

Re: Controller replacement help needed

"TTL determines when the laser is firing, normaly you choose the L-connection rather than the H-connection" where do I choose this option ? On your laser-powersupply you will find two connections. normaly called TH and TL. You can ommit the TH and connect the TL If they are not called TH ...

Re: Text engraving problem

It's a setting somewhere, i changed it somewhere in the past, but i can't remember exactly what it was... something like BMP-optimize.
But i can't reproduce it anymore else i could tell you.
You have to search in that direction anyway..

Re: Controller replacement help needed

what is TTL and PWM ? On the Leetro Laser wiring the two wires were connected to DA1 and Las2 What DA1 and LAS2 are... i don't know... you may find that in the manual of that Leetro (you may find it on the internet using Google) TTL determines when the laser is firing, normaly you choose the L-conn...

Re: Laser Tube Disposal

Best way IMHO is to contact tubecollectors. There are many and if they can get a "real lasertube"... You can't make them happier. After all, it's glass-art... and along the normal radiotubes quite impressive. There is probably a "Marketplace"-site. Advertise it (pickup only, if y...

Re: Engraving Frustrations

Not much.. The only things i change in this drivers (with the Pro-tuner app) is the level for alarm, as i set them in series with the emergency-stop.
I did experiment with some values (like Ki etc) but did not notice any significant improvements.. the Default is just fine.
