Re: Door switch NO or NC

Both are posible: you can set that level in the controller.. I use a proxy to detect the position of the lid/cap. This will output a 0 (zero) when the lid is closed.

Re: Water, Door, foot safety features

Just connect your WP-switch to the controller only.. On the HV-laser-powersupply you need to short the WP to GND. In that way the controller "knows" when it goes wrong with the waterflow and will act (it will pause). When the flow is OK again you can continue where it paused.. If you shoul...

Re: Water, Door, foot safety features

If you connect them to the controller (rather than the VV-Laserpower-supply) it will stop the machine. In fact it is not stopping but pausing it.. After you closed the door, got the waterflow right or pressed the (foot-)switch you can resume the job at exactly the same place as where it was paused b...

Re: steppers not moving k40

Just curious.. The photo with the dipswitch-settings on the driver.. was that before you set the motorcurrent? I think the selected peakcurrent of 0.21A is too low.. (i see off-on-on). You might set the current so that the motors become pretty hot (~50 degrees Celsius) after half an hour.. Motors ca...

Re: First time firing my LO-x7 - got some issues

I know there are some issue's wit programming the X7 with LaserCad. I had that with the waterflow. Best is to enter the setup on the X7 itself bij pressing SHIFT STOP simultaniously. Do your settings there and it will be set. Althoug you probably won't see them when you use Read in LaserCad, they do...

Re: Issue with the X7 DSP CONTROLLER

Not entirely sure what you mean but machine settings can be read from the controller and saved to it. You need the password to save it to the controller. If you have any doubt about the sequence you could check the engravings first and download them to the machine and then check the cuttings.. Ofcou...

Re: return to last origin point

I guess you have a problem with the limitswitch or configuration. (ie the wrong direction or corner) From the buzzing i conclude that it still powers the motors to move further to trigger the sensors? BTW what kind of limitswitches you use? microswitches or proximitysensors ? and how are the placed ...

Re: z table bed spikes

I raise material about 4mm from the bed with a few T-shirt-shaped pieces of acryl (3mm thick)
These t-shapes where lasered from a few pieces of rest material. They cost nothing and when they are worn i just replace them..

Re: rectangle corners

Not that i know of.. Better to make your drawings, with a certain kind of complexity, in one of the many other CAD-programs, export that as DXF and just import the DXF in LaserCad. Assign the right color (Speed, Power etc) to the vectors and GO...

Re: Auto Focus info????

There are a few ways of autofocus possible: 1: when you lay your -flat- material on the bed, the autofocus will raise the bed (or lower the head if you constructed it that way) till the sensor is triggered. This is one time at the beginning of the job. After that the distance will be stationairy. Th...

Re: 60W Power supply keeps failing

When the surface of the contact got oxidized you would get in trouble like arcing. That's why the better quality HV-connectors are silver or silverplated . Ag 2 O or silveroxide, conducts even better than silver But, still, the plug needs to be mounted on an isolating (preferably PTFE) bracket, a f...

Re: 60W Power supply keeps failing

I think you are just unlucky.. If the environment ain't hostile (moist, dust, very high or very low temperature etc), i can't think of anything that can cause it. If all HV-wires are kept at quite a distance of the metal frame and the connection to the tube is solid, it should be fine. If you read t...

Re: t9 Upgrade - Laser Won't Fire

To make sure it is not the HV-supply and lasertube, You can connect the HV-supply without controller: a switch and a potentiometer is all you need to fire the laser.... if it works.. like this picture i ripped from the internet: http://laserpointerforums.com/attachments/f43/40803d1360135734-power-su...

Re: t9 Upgrade - Laser Won't Fire

What ever you did, IF the Waterflow-switch is connected to the HV-powersupply, you have to connect all WP's on the controller to GND (if this controller has two laser-outputs, you have to connect them both to GND) IMHO it is better to connect the waterflowswitch to the controller instead of the HV-p...
