Re: Fusion 360 to T9 DSP controller

I've discovered a reasonable workflow from Fusion 360 (or any other late version DXF output) to LaserSoft 7.21 or 7.22. I downloaded what appears to be a free for use copy of RDWorks. It's capable of importing any DXF I've thrown at it, and subsequently exporting to multiple formats. I'll avoid post...

Re: Backlash compensation?

Marco, Thank you. I appreciate you taking a look. I was playing with the accel settings to see if I could find one high enough to skip steps. Even with these settings, I’m not seeing skipped steps, though I don’t think the controller even accepts these values and uses some default value instead. 500...

Re: Fusion 360 to T9 DSP controller

I was hoping for this workflow as well, but it doesn't appear possible. Fusion 306's cam module is primarily intended to output G-code, as far as I know. With my limited experience so far using the T9 controller, I do not see a way to upload G-code directly. The workflow from Fusion 360 to the T9 co...

Re: Backlash compensation?

Marco, I have the drivers set to microstep at 3200. I'm using a DSP T9 controller (hence the post in this forum). The attached images show the parameters you requested. I admit that I may have the acceleration turned up a bit high, and I'm certainly willing to accept feedback on the parameters. It t...

Re: Backlash compensation?

Kees, Marco, Thank you guys so much for your input. I did readdress the mechanical backlash in the machine this morning and achieved much better results. I have sub-0.1mm backlash in both axes now, which, if uncorrected, is hardly detectable by eye except in the most minute of details. Excellent tip...

Re: DSP T9 Max start and datum setup

Bruno, Surely by now you've figured it out, but just in case: The XY reset speed setting is under User Parameters in the System Settings menu. As for your other question - I can only assume that the Max Start value is the maximum commanded cold start speed, after which the acceleration value is appl...

Re: Backlash compensation?

Marco, I'm using your PR530 XY stage, as delivered. During a raster job scanning in the X direction, Y backlash would never be a factor, as it always moves in the same direction. However, during a cutting job, the laser head has the potential to reverse direction many times in each axis, each time i...

Re: Backlash compensation?

Marco, It appears the "Carving Backlash" is a single axis, speed oriented offset to be used with raster engraving (which appears to be a common setting in most laser cutting/engraving software). If I understand it correctly, its intent is to minimize double imaging, tuned to a given speed....

Backlash compensation?

I've measured my machine's backlash very accurately using a dial test indicator, however, the "Cuttion Backlash" settings in LaserSoft 7.21 do not appear to actually apply backlash compensation. When the file is sent to the T9 controller, the geometry is simply either expanded or shrunk by...

Re: LO Pro530 user paramenters

The answer to this question would actually be very helpful to anyone who purchased a PR530 X-Y stage. Through a bit of trial and error, I've got a workable set of parameters, but I'm curious to know the factory settings for the turnkey machine.
